NAHL Honors Rangers Sullivan 11/18
League names newcomer Goalie of the Week

MARQUETTE - Marquette Rangers goaltender Dan Sullivan has been named the GDI/North American Hockey League Goalie of The week after a pair of overtime wins this past weekend over Traverse City. The 19 year old York, PA native turned aside 56 of the 59 shots he faced against the North Stars as the Rangers won both games in overtime at Lakeview Arena.

Sullivan, who was recently acquired from the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League, is now 3-2 as a Ranger with a stingy 1.78 goals against average and a saves percentage of .928 in those five appearances.

"Dan has been outstanding back there," said head coach Kenny Miller. "He gives us a chance to win every night and when your goaltenders can do that, good things usually happen for your hockey club."

With the two wins, the Rangers (8-10-3, 19 pts) have put some separation between themselves and fifth-place Alpena in the NAHL North Division standings, and can catch the third-place U.S. National Team Development Program who the Rangers play this weekend in Ann Arbor. The USNTDP leads Marquette by two points going into this weekend's games at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.

Sullivan is the third Rangers player to be honored by the league this season. Forward Chad Pietila was named North Division Player of The Week for his play the weekend of September 26th and 27th, also against Traverse City. Defenseman Ryan McGrath was named North Division POW for his play against Motor City the weekend of October 23rd and 24th.
