Texas - The North American Hockey League has released their 2008 -
09 All-North Division team with Marquette Rangers defenseman Derek Grogan
among the honorees for this past year. Grogan (Eagan, Minn.) led Marquette defensemen in scoring this past season with 15 goals and 19 assists for 34 points, he finished 8th overall in scoring among NAHL defenseman. Rangers head coach Kenny Miller says as someone who coached against Grogan while at Alpena, he agrees it's an honor well deserved. "This is a great accomplishment for Derek and the Rangers," Miller said. Anytime a player gets recognized for his efforts on the ice it makes the organization that much stronger." Grogan, who starred at Eagan High School before breaking into the North American Hockey League with Alexandria (Minn.) in 2006, said it was a real honor to be recognized by the league. "I owe a lot of this to the guys on the team too," he said. "I was real happy with my play and with the guys I was with on defense all year. It's a nice way to end the year and my junior hockey career." Other players on the North Division team include: Forward:
